Adventures in Montana
It's summertime! And many of you know my husband and our family went on a wonderful vacation back in May (where has the time gone?) up to Montana. It was my first time in the state and it definitely will not be the last!
We started our trip in Tacoma and watched my sister-in-law Kristan and her boyfriend Paul graduate from University of Puget Sound. It was such a beautiful day and then of course the rain came right when everyone was ready to get their diplomas!
We helped Kristan move out of her adorable house across from campus. What I would've given to have a picture of Andy and I in front of our college house. So I made sure to get these two together for a picture. So flippin' adorable!
Then we were off to Montana!!! And hours of road trip music!
We were only there for a few days. All which included exploring Glacier National Park. Now we were there right before Memorial Day, so the entire park was not open. But I would say we took advantage of all that was open. We hiked and strolled. We picnicked by the river where deer were crossing.
This is how happy Andy was to be in the great outdoors!
My favorite hike we did was to Avalanche Lake. This was such a beautiful trail. And pretty much everyone we met on the trail saw grizzly bears and mountain goats. But I guess they didn't want to come out and hang with our group. I was totally okay with out seeing grizzly bears!
Andy's parents enjoying some reading at the lodge by McDonald Lake.
And of course after a good afternoon hike, who couldn't go for a whiskey tasting? Glacier Distilling in Coram, Montana was so delicious. The hard part was picking something to bring home because you can't buy it anywhere in California.
It was such an amazing and refreshing way to start off the summer! Nothing beats family time and being in the great outdoors! I also managed to fit in a much needed massage!
I cannot wait to visit again! There is never enough time to do and see everything in a magical place such as Montana. If you have not been yet, make sure to add it to your list of places to travel. It is absolutely stunning!
My most favorite image of the trip: McDonald Lake in the middle of the park.
