Northern California Mountain Wedding at Greenhorn Ranch

Christy and Joel wanted an outdoor wedding, and so having it surrounded by beautiful mountains and ponderosa pines meant that they didn't need to do a whole lot of decorating. Christy decided to go with a natural green, white, and gold color scheme with a little bit of sparkle to let the location speak for itself. In the end, they went with Greenhorn Creek Ranch, a scenic working dude ranch in the northern Sierra Nevada mountains and complete with a beautiful pond, rustic cabin accommodations, a chuck house, fire pit, all tucked into the gorgeous Plumas National Forest just north of Lake Tahoe. Their ceremony and vows were special because they wrote it together from scratch. The rest of the reception was just a good ol' dance party under the stars with their friends and family and their wolves. Getting to work with Christy + Joel was such a joy! They share my love of nature, animals and standing up for political causes they believe in. I often look back over their wedding photos and can’t wait to get back to the mountains to photograph more gorgeous mountain weddings like this.
